To set the scene....back when I was a teen and living at home, I would spend late nights/early mornings watching the style network recap fashion shows from around the world. I remember being filled with envious thoughts and wishing to be apart of it. I've always had a fascination with art, design & beauty. How there are so many elements to create just one look. Endless detail that the untrained eye would never grasp and the story it portrays. This year, I finally got a glimpse of this realm during the spring 2012 season. My first official show was Nicholas K provided by People's Revolution. Last season, I was able to go to the tents at Lincoln Center and be around the glitz and glamour, go to some parties, but not a real live Mercedes Benz fashion show. My eyes were bright and lite up as I checked in and handed in my ticket for entry. I couldn't believe it, a dream life blurred by what was now reality. So surreal, the pit of photographers, seeing Kelly Cutrone, and the beautiful assembles people were wearing. Finally, I was somewhere that I felt inspired and in complete awe of my accomplishment. The show was fast but in slow motion at the same time. I took so many pictures that I began to feel like I was missing out on the experience. One by one each model came down strutting & posing for their lives (paychecks) lol. Definitely one of the highlights of my life. After the grand finale, I stood to clap, say my goodbyes, then headed off to my real job wishing I could stay somehow avoid the robotic routine of the monotonous tasks I do for a living...
