The Lexus Culinary Masters are an esteemed roster of chefs that partner with Lexus on customer appreciation programs, charitable outreach and more. At this Cooking with Friends event, visiting Lexus Culinary Masters Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo (L.A.’s Animal, Son of a Gun) helped announce their good friend, Carlo Mirarchi, as the newest addition. An inventive and passionate chef, Carlo epitomizes the Lexus attitude and brings a fresh and exciting energy to the epicurean team. Lexus has announced Chef Carlo Mirarchi as the 10th Lexus Culinary Master. Nearly 200 attendees gathered at Roberta’s restaurant in Brooklyn for the latest installation of “Cooking with Friends: Lexus Culinary Masters,” a unique dinner series.
As you can see from the pictures, it was an amazing event on a perfect spring evening. This was my first time to Roberta's so of course I was waiting with great anticipation for their famous fresh brick oven pizza! Instead of celebrating Chef Carlo's induction inside the restaurant they created a spectacular spread of food stations in their urban garden under tents with color string lights. The food was absolutely amazing, I basically rolled myself home after the event! They had a pizza station, raw bar, roasted pig, roasted veggies and passed for d'oeuvres. The night Ended on the best note, I received a signed copy of the Roberta's cookbook! I love cookbooks, they're the only books I buy in print instead of tablet version. Still figuring out the perfect spot to showcase it….

An evening at AppetitO RistorantE with one of my NY besties was just what the doctor ordered. After the madness of New York Fashion Week, its great to relax and catch up over an appetizing meal and tasty cocktails. This Italian gem is located in mid-town only one block south of Bryant Park. As soon as you enter you can feel the warmth of the atmosphere with the dark wood, exposed brick and beautiful portraits.
We decided to start the night with cocktails, which is always the start of a good night! As we sipped on these delicious martinis (mine was the espresso, I needed caffeine asap) we began to peruse the menu trying to narrow down what starters should we order. The winners were the Crostini de Mozzarella (fried mozzarella in tomato sauce, tasted like heaven) & grilled calamari (it was one of the specials, not sure of the Italian name; but equally delicious). After the two we decided to take a break (with wine) before entree time. Up next we decided to share a small plate of the fontina tortellini (other one of the night's specials) along with the Petto di Pollo Appetito (bestie) and my dish Risotto ai Frutti di Mare! One of my favorite dishes is risotto and I love seafood, absolutely the perfect choice for me. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the chicken dish, it was juicy and flavorful. The night can't end without a dessert or at least a cappacino, I'm all about dessert, so I shared the tiramisu and he got a cappacino. The ultimate ending to an exquisite meal.

Contorno's, a new luxe decor Italian restaurant located on 31st between 5th & broadway avenues here in NYC. I left feeling so full and happy! Everything was absolutely delicious. Italian food tends to be simple, but dressed up with the best ingredients and traditional techniques that make people crave it. I had a lovely evening with sampling wines while eating all the savory dishes made by the talented chef, David Buico. My favorite Italian meal is gnocchi, needless to say I was waiting anxiously for it to be served. The home made fettuccine, crostini and both desserts were also some of my favorites. Many others at the tasting pick the veal meatball as their choice dish of the night. Checkout Contorno's and find out what's your favorite! See more pictures from my amazing night below...
