Exclusive Kat

Are you ready for the exclusive…

Last night's 2015 Oscars was full of glitz and glam as the stars showcased their designer fashion down the red carpet. This year's host Neil Patrick Harris did an excellent job of showing how many choices men have through his many costumes changes. Taking a mini break from my New York Fashion Week posts to do a quick recap of some of the best and not so great looks from last night.

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent

She's such a gorgeous girl, and everything about this look is perfection. The dress is simple but elegant. The statement necklace is bold and unique and I like that she has the bold red lip. Definitely one of the best dressed of the night.

Rosamund Pike in Givenchy

She looks amazing! The fit of the dress is perfection, of all of the red dresses on the carpet this was truly on for the best of the night. Who knew red was going to be so popular. The look makes up from her not so great choices at the previous award shows and I still can't believe she recently had a baby.

Lupita Nyong'o in custom Calvin Klein
This dress grew on me, I feel like it was obvious that its a work of art but it wasn't until she walked on staged and percentage an award that I could really appreciate the beauty of the dress and how amazing it was on her.

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford
Reese looks classic and timeless in this Tom Ford gown. Not exactly what I expected her to wear, but a great choice for her. No complaints here...

Emma Stone in Elie Saab
I'm not crazy about the choice of color, but she does look beautiful. She is always chooses a style that stands out among her peers. While everyone else was in a sea of red, black, white or blue she was a bright pop of neon.

Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab
I love this color on her! It goes great with her skin tone & hair. I just wish it wasn't the same plunging neckline that she always wears. You look amaze but it doesn't hurt to switch it up a bit...

Julianne Moore in custom Chanel
A perfect look for her to receive her new oscar in! Julianne is always a vision on the red carpet and this year was not an exception to that.

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive
This dress grew on me, I like that its different from what we usually see on the red carpet. It looks great on her and you can she that she feels good in it and thats what's most important.

Last night the 72nd Annual Golden Globes aired bringing out the best of tv and cinema stars to bring their fashion A game to the red carpet! The most popular trends had to be white, red, and metallic. It almost seemed as though there was a dress code that everyone was following. Let's get started with who looked amazing last night then progress to who could have took more time on their gown choice.

My favorites of the night...

Sienna Miller in Mui Mui
I loved this dressed it. It was different from the rest, fun and looked even better on screen. Most importantly...she looked comfortable in it; it wasn't wearing her.

Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace
This is what a movie star looks like! The hair, the make up and the color of the dress all go so well together. I'm into it!

Kate Hudson in Versace
She looks amazing! Makes me want to get on her workout plan immediately, of course paired with her fabletics line.

 Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
Her tan is a bit too orange, but besides that she looks exquisite! Not surprised at all.

Julianne Moore in Givenchy Couture
She is always someone I look forward to seeing on the red carpet. Always stylish, fun and with class!

CHARLES JAMES FASHION SHOW WITH HALSTON 1982

Last night the fashion was in full bloom for the 2014 Met Gala inspired by designer Charles James with the theme of Beyond Fashion! Take a look at the short video above to see the glamorous designs that crowned Charles James as the 2014 choice for the exhibit (one word…breathtaking). This year I decided to have a more civilized experience and not to walk over to to the Met, skipping the hassle of the crowd and instead catch everything online. Although its exciting and amazing to see so many stars in one place and the fashion up close, I opted out of climbing the scaffolding (yes, I did that) to get great shots. This year it felt like some came ready to dazzle while others were confused on the theme or what just making a good fashion decision and missed the mark. However the bold ladies below clearly came to dazzle us with their overwhelmingly exquisite dresses!
The Bold
SJP in Oscar de la Renta, Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa, Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung

The Colorful
Anne Hathaway in Calvin Klein, Reese Witherspoon in Stella McCartney, Emma Stone in Thakoon

The Edgy
Rihanna & Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney

The Feminine
Kendall Jenner in Topshop, Diane Kruger, Taylor Swift in Oscar de la Renta

The Perfect Pairings
David & Victoria Beckham (He's in Ralph Lauren & she's in her own design) - Johnny Depp & Amber Heard
Kanye West & Kim Kardashian in Lavin (not crazy about Kim's dress…They're listed b/c Kanye came dressed for Vogue - Jay Z and Beyoncé in Givenchy

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds in Gucci - Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

The Mishaps
Kate Uptown as Little Bo Peep (Dolce & Gabanna) , Lupita Nyong'o (Prada) as Sea Kelp, Katie Holmes as Belle from Beauty & the Beast (Marchesa)

Last night's Oscars were as glamorous as ever, all the stars came out in their finest as they strutted down the red carpet. I wanted to do a quick recap for the styles that I that caught my eye, I also included a brief highlight video if you weren't able to catch any of the red carpet coverage. Metallics, nudes, pastels, jewel tones and of course black were extra popular choices last night. Which were you're favorites?!

Sandra Bullock, Alexander McQueen; Lupita Nyong'o, Prada; Amy Adams, Gucci
Cate Blanchett, Armani Privé; Kate Hudson, Versace; Kelly Osbourne (not sure who she's wearing, but I like it)
Kevin Spacey, Burberry; Jared Leto, Saint Laurent; Leonardo DiCaprio, Giorgio Armani
Matthew McConaughey (Dolce & Gabanna) & Camila Alves (Gabriela Cadena)
Brad Pitt (Tom Ford) & Angelina Jolie (Elie Saab)

As the award season continues on…let's unveil last night's red carpet recap from the 2014 Grammys. There were a lot of metallics, sheers, bold colors and a couple of robots on the carpet. I felt like the Grammys had its ups and downs during the extra long 3.5hr show. Let's start of with the high points starting with my favorite couples from the night. Jay Z + Beyoncé (left) and Calvin Harris + Rita Ora have won my best dressed pairs, Beyoncé is wearing Michael Costello and Rita is wearing Lavin. The ladies look exquisite and the men look extra dapper.

Jay Z + Beyoncé (Left)   Calvin Harris + Rita Ora (Right)
As for my favorite ladies in metallics Chrissy Teigen in Johanna Johnson, Ciara in Emilio Pucci and Taylor Swift in in Gucci. Although I wish Taylor would have done something more with her hair…that would have made the look as a whole perfection.
Who wore the best red on the red carpet that would be Colbie Callait in Ezra Couture and Pink in Johanna Johnson! Both of these ladies looked like stars.
Dynamic duos on the carpet: Madonna and her son David in Ralph Lauren (Madonna is wearing a gold grill…just an fyi). Ryan Lewis & Macklemore looked fab, I love men that take a risk, reminds me of OutKast in a way.
One looks great, the other is trying far too hard…can you guess which is which? Katy Perry looks like stunning in Valentino while Paris Hilton is trying to recapture an audience in Gucci.
More unfortunate ensembles: Ariana Grande in Dolce & Gabbana wearing nude tights and grandma pumps? Gag! Pharrell is fly, but I'm not feeling the hat, at all. Checkout #Pharrellshat's twitter for a laugh. Lastly, Kathy Griffin. Sigh, I'm a fan but this pattern plus color choice is a no.

Oh and here are the robots I mentioned…aka Daft Punk

Last night, the 2014 SAG Awards red carpet was filled with a-list stars dressed in their best. Some of my favs were the three looks above. Lupita looks absolutely amazing in Gucci, Amy is stunning in Antonio Berardi and Sophia is all glam in Donna Karan Atelier. The SAG awards are typically the award show that actors take more of a risk with their style. Let's see if those risks paid off…

More Red Carpet Stunners:
Emilia Clarke in Calvin Klein, Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior & Anna Gunn in Monique Lhuillier
Michelle Dockery in J. Mendel, Sandra Bullock in Lanvin & Elisabeth Rohm in Marchesa
Kelly Osbourne in Zac Posen, Katrina Bowden & Morena Baccarin in Monique Lhuillier

Questionable Looks:

Its not that their horrible, their just not working for me. For Cate I'm not sure about the shape. Julie, the colors aren't the best but I like that she tried something different. If anyone could pull off a crop top while pregnant it would be Kerry, actually its the bottom that I not into.
Cate Blanchett in Givenchy, Julie Bowen in Carolina Herrera & Kerry Washington in Prada

Needs Help:

Malin's dress is way too busy and also looks like thick heavy material. Claire looks great, what I don't like are the taupe side panels. Julia looks like she's having more fun on the red carpet in this jumpsuit, I wish its looked dressier with some satin or beading…maybe bigger jewelry?
Malin Akerman in Naeem Khan, Claire Danes in Vionnet & Julia Roberts in Valentino

Best Couple:

Let's end on a happy note…Matthew McConaughey & Camilla Alves looked like a perfect pair! Him in Dolce & Gabanna & she's in Donna Karen Atelier

Award season has officially begun! It all starts with the Golden Globes celebrating films and tv for an outstanding year in entertainment. There were plenty of amazing dresses followed by some forgettable and questionable ones. My favorite picks were the the Cate Blanchett (Armani Privé), Lupita Nyong'o (Ralph Lauren) & Margot Robbie (Gucci) all from the above picture. But it didn't stop there, more stunning gown featured below and a few others I'm still wondering what was wrong with their stylist.

Juilanna Marguiles (Andrew Gn), Sophia Vergara (Zac Posen) & Taylor Swift (Carolina Herrera)
Kelly Osbourne (Escada), Kate Beckinsale (Zuhair Murad) & Julie Bowen (Carolina Herrera)
My fav couples from the night: Matthew McConaughey & wife Camila Alves - Channing Tatum & wife Jenna Dewan
They both look great, but I'm not crazy about either look…Amy Adams (Valentino) & Emma Watson (Christian Dior)
None of this is good. I feel like Julia could have done more, Lena should have done less and Jennifer has seat belts on her dress…sigh.
Julia Roberts (Dolce & Gabbanna), Lena Dunham (Zac Posen) & Jennifer Lawrence (Christian Dior)
Pregnancy all a glow on the red carpet tonight. Kerry looks stunning, Olivia I'm still deciding and Drew, no bueno. I can only image how hard it must be to find the perfect dress, let alone be pregnant.

Olivia Wilde (Gucci), Kerry Washington (Balenciaga) & Drew Barrymore (Monique Lhullier)
Not a fan of these at all. Zoey looks futuristic and Paula seems to be picking all her dresses when she's high lol. Kaley's isn't bad I just don't think this was the right place for it.
Zoey Saldana (Parbal Gurung), Paula Patton (Stephane Rolland Couture) & Kaley Cuoco (Rani Zakhem Couture)
I'm not sure about these looks. They're not bad but not great either. I feel like all of them could have pick something that would have suited them better.

Elizabeth Moss (J. Mendel) beautifully made dress, not sure its right for her.
Sandra Bullock (Parbal Gurung) I feel like it looks a little cheap…
Zooey Deschanel (Oscar De La Renta) crop top couture that looks a kind of grandma-ish
