Exclusive Kat

Are you ready for the exclusive…

I can't be the only one still trying to figure out my outfits for the weekend! I've been on the hunt trying to find something cute, comfortable and weather appropriate. It's been stifling in NYC the past few days and the humidity has been something fierce; I can only wear up-dos to look presentable. Since the holiday falls on a weekend this year everyone is planning for a 3 day celebration and the anticipation for the short work week to end is only putting more emphasis on festivities.

Back to my personal struggle, finding something cute to wear… This winter was so long and soooooo cold that I've noticed my fall/winter gear greatly outnumbers my spring/summer attire. Its no secret that Guess always has great collections and the quality to match it; plus with their clothes I never have to worry about how they're going to fit me. I found some awesome potential ensembles to celebrate the 4th and the rest of the summer in Guess' All American lookbook (see more here).

There's only a few days till June 21st, the official start of summer! I'm sure I'm not alone in my last minute efforts with workout plans and healthy eating tips before I purchase some new swimwear. Now that I'm almost to my goal, I've started my quest on finding some fun and new styles for swimwear and cover ups for the soon to come beach days I've been daydreaming about. I found some styles from River Island's Summer 2014 collection that were pretty fly and more importantly affordable (suits are between $40 -$60). See more styles on their website here.

Right now I'm into clean white and black looks with pops of color, sparkle fun patterns. They seem to give off a more sophisticated yet fun vibe. You could easily wear most of these styles for day to night, looking chic effortlessly. Lately, I've been suffering from the "I'm tired of everything I own" so I've been on the hunt for new spring and summer clothes. I'm in desperate need of cute tops and dresses…French Connection could be a good place to start. Hmmmmm

Son Jung Wan launched her first e-commerce site this month with the Spring/Summer 2014 runway collection and the Fall/Winter 2014 collection available for presale. To celebrate this new venture they had a mini preview showcasing gorgeous items from both seasons and the best of all I got to play dress up in the stunning furs in my Where's Waldo-esque collage pretending to be on a red carpet in front of the flashing lights.

The site puts striking imagery at the forefront on the landing page, with a behind the scenes look from the Fall 2014 show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center as well as an insider’s  backstage video. Below are some of my top looks that I want for my closet. I'm into the jumpsuits/catsuits/one pieces whatever you'd like to call them, especially the crisp white style (below, left). The bold colors of the dresses accented with metallic shimmery details translates to absolute perfection! For the Fall/Winter collection the silhouettes are so flattering with fun flirty details that can be worn by a wide age range and of course the details and the fabrics used make this collection so luxurious you can't help but be intrigued.

The gorgeous penthouse at the Refinery Hotel was the perfect setting to view CHALK's new Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. There were styles for every girl; structure lovers (me), flowy & free looks or pieces with an edge (me again). As I took a look through the racks I found several pieces I'd like to make my own. I adore the blazer/shirt & pants combos (see in the below pic), its hard for me to pass up a good set! But, I'm also drawn to the baseball jacket and the mesh sweater...hmmm decisions, decisions. CHALK’s Spring 2014 Collection ($75-$385) will be sold on Shopbop.com and at Madison boutique in Los Angeles.

Guess & Marciano have been two of my favorite brands for years. The clothes are great quality with an edge and uniqueness that will spice up your wardrobe! In late October, I attended the press preview for their upcoming collections. Guess is always fun and flirty with their prints, detailed denim and sexy dresses. Meanwhile Marciano gives options for more elegant looks that still have sexiness but in a more sophisticated way. Below are some my fave looks from both collections (1st Guess, 2nd Marciano).

Hey ladies, Muse has something for all of us! No matter the color or pattern; I bet you can find a dress that you'll fall in love with! As I perused the showroom going through all the racks I found so many stunning pieces. Muse makes beautiful dresses that not only flatter you body shape but also have that luxurious feel without the price tag to match! From lace, to bejeweled, to faux leather details Muse's has got it! See more of what they have to offer right here on  their website.

Be ready for the bold patterns, metallics, sequins, animal prints and fun colors that S.I.L.K. delivers in their new Spring 2014 Collection. Below are some of my favs from the spring preview! I love the snake print dress, its tots cute and I don't have one...yet! My other favorite ensemble would have to be the yellow striped sweater and floral print pants. Is is busy...yes. Is it bright...yes. But, I can't take my eyes off it! Hope you enjoy this sneak peek into Spring 2014 as much as I do! The collection will be available in January!

Inspired by the potent sophistication of the 1930s Hollywood, the Josie Natori Spring/Summer collection captures the eternal style of this glamorous fashion moment, envisioning modern life through the enchantment of the silver screen. Bias-cut gowns; metallic raffia and liquid jersey; noir-inspired black and white geometric patterns; and pale, feminine pastels in soft silks, satins and chiffons re-imagine the screen siren lifestyle - alluring ensembles for the boudoir, cabana, stage and red carpet. "Hollywood's iconic beauties and exotic rebels fueled my inspiration for this collection," says Josie Natori. "Like the East, Hollywood evokes intrigue and imagination; it offers a rich palate of style from which a modern woman can curate her own starring role." ~ Josie Natori

Get ready for glamour and glitz as the Spring/Summer 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week vastly approaches us! Personally I cannot wait to be back at the tents. I feel that everyone gets at least a little more excited to see warm weather collections since the clothes tend to be more fun and colorful.
