It's that time again...are you ready for my obsessions for the week?! I'm switching it up a little bit with doing a beauty treatment instead of fashion. If you'd like to see what trends I'm excited about in the fashion world, check out my Keep account here! I save it all so I can come back and shop for it later and with any luck on sale. Let's begin....

Food: MmmMmm Gnocchi
This week instead of a recipe, its more of a suggestion...a strong suggestion to go to Employees Only in the West Village and try the gnocchi! So delicious, I'm still daydreaming about my visit their on Sunday. The cocktails are pretty incredible too! Just beware of the cocktails if you have plans for the next day or a busy work schedule; every time I go the next day is spent recuperating.
Tech Savvy: Rent or Buy you Tech Accessories
Lumoid makes trying new tech products simple without the hefty price tag! There are so many new gadgets that make us feel like we desperately need them, but wouldn't it be nice to try them out before making the commitment? I think so. You can try single products or get a kit that fits your needs/interests. Send it back when your done or purchase easily through Lumoid. I found this video to help further explain the how to's and whys you may have (click here).
For the Pets: Cute Storage
Photo Source: Premiere Home & Gifts
Seriously, how cute is this?! I found this on the Premiere Home & Gifts website. If you're like me and always looking for the same quality, but at a cheaper price try TJ Maxx or Home Goods. They have awesome dishes that have air tight seals that I keep Chicken's food and treats in. I like my food to stay fresh, why not give him the same luxury.
Outings: Queen of the Night
I've been talking to anyone will listen about wanting to go to see Queen of the Night since my birthday in September. The show looks amazing and its an open bar cocktail hour, then full dinner (including lobster & roast pork) with carafes of wine while you are entertained! I've been dying to get dressed up and enjoy the festivities. Enough is enough I'm going! Its a little pricey (you can find deals from $155+) but its worth all you get out of it. I've decided to treat myself once I get my refund from my taxes, giving me the chance to talk about something new...finally.

Last week I had the pleasure experiencing Manhattan by Sail via Clipper City. It was my official first boat ride of the year and yes, it was magical! I've never actually been on a sail boat before, it made the outing that much more special and timeless. Although it wasn't as warm as we would have like, the sunset and the views were absolutely spectacular! Oh and they gave us blankets to snuggle up as we sipped champagne while watching the sunset over the Hudson. Perfect outing for a group of friends, visiting relatives or if you're a tourist visiting. Food, drinks, a boat and landmarks…seriously who could ask for more?!

Sometimes I forget how great it is to live here. Yes its crowded and rent is expensive, but I love it! I'm from the middle of nowhere about an hour outside of Chicago, where I was constantly daydreaming of living in the center of everything. With luck and numerous opportunities I ended up here and I can't imagine being anywhere else. Everyday there's something new, strange and beautiful; it's hard to explain you just have to visit!

Grand Central Celebrates 100yrs
I enjoyed the end of my long President's Day weekend by having a delicious dinner with one of my NYC besties at Bobby Van's Grill located steps away from Times Square. We started out the night with cocktails, I had the Black Flower Collins and my friend had the Fresh Cucumber Margarita. Now that cocktails were picked we began to make our selections from the Pre-Fixed Dinner Menu. It was a chilly night and I'm not a salad girl so I chose the soup of the day, butternut squash (extra delicious and comforting). My friend had the fennel and field salad to start; large portion and truffle added in the dressing, nothing to dislike about that! Before the entrees reached the table we chose a nice fruity wine to pair with our meal selections…an Angeline pinot noir was the winner. Finally it was time…entree time! I loved every moment of my blackened swordfish with shrimp risotto! My friend had the biggest steak I've seen in a while. The sirloin was slightly charred on the outside and cooked to a perfect medium temp for the center. We ended our night with cake and cappuccinos. I have a love affair with chocolate so obviously I chose the chocolate truffle cake; it was rich and amazing. I sampled the NY cheesecake courtesy of my friend's plate…haha. Check out my photos from our evening or better yet experience your own luscious evening at Bobby Van's on 50th! See full menu or book a reservation here.

This weekend I went to the Met with my roomie. I've been wanting to see "Faking It" a photography exhibit that shows different images throughout history that were manipulated before photoshop was created. In high school & college I took film photography classes. I've always been enticed by the idea of capturing memories. That particular exhibit did not allow pictures so here are some of the other pieces of art that caught me eye.
Immediately I thought…I'd wear that!
Rainbow :)
Love the vibrant colors plus it includes what I did that day. Grocery shopping, housework & a visit to Sephora.
I said to my roommate, 'Omg, that looks like me!' She said "I know exactly which 1 you're talking about!" Top row, center with the white background, lol.
We look cray
You have to see it close up to really get how amazing this piece is! Its made completely out of circles and took up an entire wall. So impressed!
Lately, I've being flying more often and my new obsession is getting the perfect arial shots of my destination. Usually my main concern has been sleeping on the flight…I've got it down to a science, I can fall asleep before the plane even takes off, lol. Somehow I seem to wake up at the perfect time to get the exact shots I want. Call it luck, perfect timing or a coincidence :) See more of my window seat views on my way to Vegas from NYC and over the Grand Canyon.
Back home over NYC

Hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July! It was a little weird having a holiday on a Wednesday, but I'm not complaining...four day work weeks are heaven sent, lol. I started celebrating Tuesday night, a friend of mine threw a rooftop party and lucked out on seeing some fireworks. There's something magical about the 4th, sparklers, summertime and celebrating our freedom that makes me in the happiest of moods. I managed to do a lot for someone that got home at 4 am the night before haha. Shopping, BBQ, dancing, eating, park strolling and of course seeing the fireworks. My 2 day extravaganza was nothing short of amazing! Here are some pics of how I celebrated and what was going on here in the city.

So after meeting with my focus group (aka roommates) about where my blog is going…there was a consensus that I need to inject more of myself into it and it would be faaarrrr more interesting, hope you agree :) Let's see how this goes. I like a lot of random stuff and tend to share my attention with everything that's going on. This week, like every week…numerous things caught my attention. I've never had a myspace (honestly, I swear), but I do like the idea of a top 8 lol. Seven would make sense due to there being 7 days in a week, but I feel like that just won't do! So here's my top 8 (no particular order) mostly from my instagram….it just makes everything so much prettier :)
