This brunch with Pinnacle Vodka starts in the kitchen then works its way around the country (figuratively speaking)! As expected Pinnacle through another fantastic and fun event featuring their two new flavors that happen to be perfect for the brunch crowd: Habanero and Mimosa. Each area of the 24th Street Loft was a different themed section of America; starting at the Northwest and working our way around. Thankfully they had some appetizers to pair with each station to keep everyone from morphing into a hot mess. My favorite cocktail of the night turned out to be my first one from the North West (not to be confused with Kimye's daughter). The cocktail was the Double Spicy Mary by Niccole Trzaska (shown below, and recipe follows). After our trip around the country we were able to meet up with Nicole and create our own cocktail concoctions using all sorts of garnishes! It was an awesome night to toast to brunch and its new friends Habanero and Mimosa.

In my attempt to mix things up, I did something new for me; a mixology class! On Tuesday Nov. 4th at Harding's in Chelsea we crafted cocktails featuring St. George Spirits with master mixologist, Derrick Turner. St. George Spirits is know for their original craft distillery making single malt whiskey, bourbon, absinthe, and several gins and liqueurs since 1982.
All of us were equipped with a personal, fully stocked cocktail station, learning the step-by-step process of making three different cocktails featuring the artisanal spirits from St. George Spirits. Using a palette of easy-to-find ingredients, these cocktails are simple to recreate at home without losing the any flare to impress friends & relatives at the approaching Thanksgiving table dinners and/or Holiday parties!
I had so much fun, Derrick was amazing teacher and the cocktails were delicious! I think my favorite would have to be the Blood in the Woods; the burnt cinnamon smelled amazing and the drink evolved after each sip as the flavors became more tasty and complex. I was most surprised by Simply Wicked because I am NOT a fan of Absinthe and avoid it at all costs! Its one of those flavors that you love it or hate it, but in the way that it was mixed and the fact that not much was added, shockingly I enjoyed the cocktail.
Finally its time for the fun part, the 3 Delicious Cocktails :-P See below for images & recipes:
The Rockefeller: 1oz St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur, 2oz Rye Whiskey, 2 dashes Angostura bitters, 1 dash Simple Syrup
Blood of the Woods: 1oz Apple Cider, 1 1/2oz of Bourbon, 1 chard Cinnamon Stick, 1/4oz Maple Syrup, Top w/ St. George Rasberry Liquor
Simply Wicked: 1/4oz St. George Absinthe, 1/2oz Agave Syrup, Pinch of Watercress, 1 1/2oz Gin, Garnish w/ Watercress

Earlier this week I got a chance to get a sneak peek at the new Cat Footwear pop up shop in the Roger Smith Hotel. We celebrated the launch of the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection, as well as the return of the brand's original "Colorado" boot from 1990, which will be available again for the first time in the U.S. this Fall season! In keeping with this theme, they brought together 5 NYC-based artists who used the Colorado boot as a blank canvas, and unveiled their one-of-a-kind artworks. I can't believe how each one completely transformed the boots and made then truly into a piece of art! Whether drawing, painting, layering or building materials off of the boot as a foundation, they were remarkable. The featured artists were Ivan Orama, James Gulliver Hancock, Liz Lomax, Amanda Dolan, and Misha Tyutyunik. Models were on hand to showcase the new iterations of the Colorado boot from the AW14 collection, while we enjoyed cocktails and sounds by DJ Jasper Stapleton.
More info about the pop up:
The Pop-Up will be officially open to the public for consumer shopping on October 21st - 28th 11am - 7pm! It will feature 3 limited edition styles from the UK that have never been available to the U.S. consumer. The pop-up will be the first and only place to get these styles, while supplies last.
The new addition to the Bobby Van's Steakhouse family is new comer BV's Grill! The speciality of BV's Grill is new American and classic steakhouse fare. Less formal than the original, but maintains its elegance in the decor with a more approachable vibe. Spacious bar and dining areas for large crowds and large front patio space for those wanting to dine al fresco before the cold is upon us.
The grand opening was packed with relatives, friends and press enjoying cocktails, wine and numerous hors d'oeuvres served on grand trays. Below in my second collage you can see some of the passed appetizers that were absolutely delicious. I had a lovely time catching up with friends over glasses of wine on my birthday eve and partaking in the grand opening celebration. The location is the perfect spot in Midtown for business meetings or meet ups after work. Oh and they have a tasty brunch menu, plus it's only a few blocks south from 59th street. Brunch with friends and burn it off with some shopping cardio! They have something for everyone from beef to seafood, pasta, wings, brunch and cafe options. Take a look at there website to view more about BV's Grill and to make your reservation today!

“At Lexus we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of design, performance and technology, and we strive to work with innovative people, like Gareth Pugh, who take similar creative risks,” says Brian Bolain, Lexus corporate marketing communications manager. “This year’s Lexus Design Disrupted defies convention and invites guests to experience both brands in an unexpected way.”
"This is an opportunity to elevate my work and present it in a more innovative and meaningful way," says Pugh, who is premiering a collection in New York for the first time. "I hope to explore a new visual language — something that transcends the nature of a traditional fashion show — where images penetrate and the audience have a deeper understanding of the story I want to tell."

Unfortunately my phone was low on battery and space so I wasn't able to capture a snippet from the last sequence, but I hope you enjoy these short glimpses into the first two performances.

I'm obsessed with the Food Network and Cooking Channel so I was beyond thrilled to attend Pinnacle's Unexpected pairings with Chef Claire Robinson! If you're not familiar with Claire she has her own show, 5 Ingredient Fix and she also hosts other challenge shows on the Food Network channel. Last week she conducted a live cooking demo of 3 dishes that we were able to taste in a sit down dinner later that evening. Each dish was paired with a cocktail by celebrity mixologist Niccole Trzaska. After the cooking demo were we split up along two tables for a 4th of July inspired cocktail demo. The drink was red white and blue with whatever garnishes your heart desired. Surprisingly mine turned out pretty awesome (you can see it below in my instagram collage)! After that, we all sat down to a delicious dinner featuring the below listed 3 dishes made during the cooking demo. Everything was so good! I don't even like peas, but I got seconds of the snappy ginger garlic peas; lol.
- Snappy Ginger Garlic Peas paired with Pinnacle® Unflavored Vodka in the Sage Vice cocktail
- Mojo Pork Tenderloin paired with Pinnacle® Raspberry Vodka in the Red, White & Blue cocktail
- Sugar & Spicebox Cake paired with Pinnacle® Cinnabon® Vodka in the Cinnabon® Splash cocktail
Left: Niccole Trzaska Right: Sage Vice
1 part Pinnacle®
Unflavored Vodka
1 part Pineapple Juice
1 quarter part Lemon Juice
1 quarter part Dry Vermouth
Mix
ingredients over ice shake and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a sage leaf (make sure to tap the sage leaf
between palms or snap in the fingers to release its essence).

In Claire's words "BYOC" meaning be your own chef. Don't be afraid to make a recipe your own and enjoy the experience of cooking be comfortable and have fun!
Here's the recipe for the peas that I'm obsessed with:
Snappy Ginger Garlic Peas
1 pound sugar snap peas, trimmed
1 tablespoon grated peeled ginger
2 teaspoons seasoned rice vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic olive oil
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted
Prepare a bowl with icy water and set aside. Cook peas in a large pot of boiling salted water until just tender, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a bowl of icy water to stop the cooking. Drain peas and pat dry.
Whisk together ginger, vinegar, and oil. Add peas and sesame seeds and mix. Season with salt and pepper.
Apron swag with a couple of my friends :)
Living in NYC has given me more celebrity run-ins than I thought I would ever have… I've ran into Anna Wintour on my way to work; I've seen Jay-Z out when i got off from work lol, but this was my first time seeing a major artist hip hop perform. The day was just a typically Thursday…full of clock watching and wishing it was already Friday. Met some friends after work to see the new G-Shock collection and BAM they told us Eminem will be performing for tonight! I couldn't believe it. My brother is the biggest Eminem fan I know. I quickly got 2 drinks (yes 2) then moved as close to the stage as I could. Slaughter House set it off with DJ Drama, getting the crowd prepared for the finale. When Eminem hit the stage everyone went crazy, you no longer cared who was stepping on you or feeling the drinks being spilled. Everyone was there to be in the moment. Em performed so many of his hits dating all the way back to when he started. Definitely a night to remember….
