“At Lexus we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of design, performance and technology, and we strive to work with innovative people, like Gareth Pugh, who take similar creative risks,” says Brian Bolain, Lexus corporate marketing communications manager. “This year’s Lexus Design Disrupted defies convention and invites guests to experience both brands in an unexpected way.”
"This is an opportunity to elevate my work and present it in a more innovative and meaningful way," says Pugh, who is premiering a collection in New York for the first time. "I hope to explore a new visual language — something that transcends the nature of a traditional fashion show — where images penetrate and the audience have a deeper understanding of the story I want to tell."

Unfortunately my phone was low on battery and space so I wasn't able to capture a snippet from the last sequence, but I hope you enjoy these short glimpses into the first two performances.

As you may know, last week T-Mobile announced that it’s expanding the home data coverage for most Simple Choice customers to include more than 100 countries, at no extra charge. To share this exciting news they partnered with superstar Shakira to kick off impending changes to benefit their customers! The concert was held in Bryant Park, which was all lit up in pink (T-Mobile's signature color). The celebration began with Swizz Beatz, who got the crowd hype as they anxiously waited for Shakira's arrival. I must say Shakira was amazing! She looked great, sounded the same as the radio (was not lip-syncing) and truly put on a show as she danced around the stage. Hope you enjoy the pics I took from the night!

Phillipe and David Blond, the designer duo behind The
Blonds are proud to announce that Beyonce will be wearing a custom made outfit
for her Mrs. Carter tour. The Blonds
have dressed Beyonce in the past various times, including her Upgrade music
video, promo shots for her album 4 packaging and various performances throughout
the past 5 years.
David Blond: “Beyonce exudes confidence, glamour and sensuality, so
we created something that would express those things in every way. A couture
look that would not only be stunning, but also reflect her personality and the
music from this segment of the Mrs. Carter Tour.”
Phillipe Blond: “Our original inspiration came from Tamara de
Lempicka's paintings of the female body.
It is also meant to give the illusion of being covered in crystallized
honey.
David Blond: “To start,
Phillipe hand-painted the suit on Beyonce to achieve the correct
shading. Then the piece was hand
embroidered with approximately 30,000 Swarovski crystals that took over 600
hours to apply.”
Living in NYC has given me more celebrity run-ins than I thought I would ever have… I've ran into Anna Wintour on my way to work; I've seen Jay-Z out when i got off from work lol, but this was my first time seeing a major artist hip hop perform. The day was just a typically Thursday…full of clock watching and wishing it was already Friday. Met some friends after work to see the new G-Shock collection and BAM they told us Eminem will be performing for tonight! I couldn't believe it. My brother is the biggest Eminem fan I know. I quickly got 2 drinks (yes 2) then moved as close to the stage as I could. Slaughter House set it off with DJ Drama, getting the crowd prepared for the finale. When Eminem hit the stage everyone went crazy, you no longer cared who was stepping on you or feeling the drinks being spilled. Everyone was there to be in the moment. Em performed so many of his hits dating all the way back to when he started. Definitely a night to remember….

Yesterday was Good & Pink Friday. I spent most of the day relaxing, strolling around Central Park and meeting up with a friend. Pretty normal weekend activities…walking home I got a text about the Lumia launch asking where was I at. I did a quick outfit change cheetah pants and a pink blazer, gotta stand out (a definite must for attending event)! Ran to the subway and hopped on the 6 (just like old school J Lo). On my way downtown, I was trying to think of the best way to get to the Renaissance Hotel in Times Square. Before I moved here I used to love going to Times Square, the lights, gigantic tvs, stores and all the crazy madness it holds. But now, I try to avoid it. Its full of people looking up and not where they're going and on top of that I absolutely hate walking slow! I transfer trains & get off in the middle of all the chaos, still getting texts "are you close, where are you"? Back to Tom Cruise running in my 4 inch heels, trying my best part the crowd. I finally reached the Renaissance hotel and got into the elevator. Immediately heard "It's about time" sarcastically...turned around and of course there was my friend. The R Lounge was packed! First stop, the bar of course, where I was directly behind Chef Roblé and his friends! Drinks in hand we walked over to try to get a spot in the window to watch Nicki's performance. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anywhere close to the window to watch, but I was able to see the performance easily on the screens. She did 2 songs Starships & Super Bass, made an announcement and the Nokia dancers were up. I thought that was it, but to my surprise she was coming to the R Lounge which lead to everyone leaving from their window seats and gave us a chance to take over their primetime spots. Luck being on my side, they made a section for her that was directly next to me. When I say directly I mean the couch was shared just her section started on the other half of it! Nicki walked in waving and smiling at everyone. Since she was so close I was easily able to ask her for a picture. She quickly replied, "of course, of course"! Basically another great random night worth remembering. See below for more pics.

This is how all Wednesdays should be…sipping on the delicious Malibu Red cocktails and getting serenaded by Ne-Yo. Probably one of my best nights here in the city. They didn't spare any details at this launch party at the Liberty Theatre, near the heart of Time Square. Everything glowing red, even the shot glasses had glowing red lights in them, lol. Here's a quick run through of my evening...I got in, met a few friends at the bar, picked out which fab specialty cocktail I would be drinking for the night (winner: Malibu Red Margarita) and found my primetime spot right next to the stage! Finally Ne-Yo hit the stage...I can't even explain how close he was to me, lol. He sang 6 songs including: Because of You, Closer, Miss Independent and even Give Me Everything. During Miss Independent he came over, sang to me and put the mic by me to sing back haha. Well it was kinda hard to miss me, I was wearing my yellow leather jacket :) I was the mustard to Malibu's red ketchup decor for the night. FYI more info this new product, it's a 70 proof blend that incorporates the same Caribbean rum with a kick from silver tequila. I knew there was a little something extra to the drink, plus how do you make a good margarita without tequila :) Enjoy the pics from the night!
A couple weeks ago a few of my friends and I were trying to go to see Santigold on the 18th. Tickets were only $25 and the show was early enough for me to make it to work the next day. But fate was against us...tickets sold out in 10 minutes, it was unbelievable. Lucky for us she announced they were adding an additional day due to the high demand. So this year on MLK day I went to see Santigold at the Music Hall in Williamsburg with one of my best hype/dancing/party-goer friends. Here in NY it had been unseasonably warm, but of course by the time the 17th came around that was no longer a fact... More like a distant memory, all layered up I left the island and was off to BK. We met up at a bar named The Cove, just a couple blocks from the venue. It was still happy hour with $4 drinks. Needless to say we got pretty tipsy before getting to the show. Walked inside, got stamped, dropped off the layers in coat check, bathroom break, then it was a non stop dance party…at least for us it was. The show kicked off with Spank Rock, never seen them before, but they were good. Still dancing and sipping on some vodka tonics it was around 10 when she made it on stage. She said all her big songs and the 2 dancers were fantastic! I had a blast, perfect ending to the long weekend. I even got a workout lol, all that dancing/dropping it like its hot made my hamstrings & gluteus sore. Sometimes living here feels like its hard to have a great time without spending a fortune. It's possible you just have to be on the look out :)
This week I was so over booked, suffering from a lack of time and being sleep deprived. Jam packed by holiday parties, work, friends and events nonstop. I made it work and enjoyed every moment especially ending on the best note...Divas Live! Even though we had an unseasonably warm November here in NYC, that is no longer the case. #HelloDecember. My friend and I waited a couple hours before getting inside to see the show. Luckily we were able to get wristbands that guarantee entry, so we left got something to eat and resumed our place in line. Even with that break indoors my toes were already going numb from the cold, not to mention my 4in heels that should have been flats lol. As the line started to move and progress became more and more visible, we made our way to the Hammerstein Ballroom entrance. The picture above was taken right after I made it inside. We quickly made our way to the stage and secured a prime time spot! The feeling in my toes were coming back and music was playing to get the crowd hype. Celebrities were beginning to arrive and you could start seeing them in the balcony. Like Common, Emily (Love & HipHop), Mob Wives, etc... I couldn't believe how lucky I was to be there. It's crazy to be somewhere and see people you only see on tv. Being sort of new to NYC that feeling is still frequently reoccurring for me. Everything here seems to be out of a movie, news or in magazines. Back to the show...I had a great time everyone sounded fantastic (no lip syncing)! Soooo many people were there Florence from Florence and the Machine who opened the show followed by Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Estelle, Travis McCoy, Jessie J, Queen Latifah, Dolly Parton, Common, Nas, Terrence Howard, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, Masha Amberose, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Boyz II Men, LaLa Vasquez and many more. It was a dream. Sad that its over and followed by Monday morning...c'est la vie.
Hope you enjoy the pics!!

Last Wednesday, I went to the beautiful oasis in the Skylight Soho created by T-mobile & Nokia for the unveiling of the new Lumia-710. The whole layout was amazing, a colorful winter wonderland filled with games and treats. There was so much to do...food drinks, pool, arcade games, pictures with the abominable snowman, relaxing in the lounge areas and of course watching Clap Your Hands Say Yeah perform. The food was delicious, I took a crazy picture with the abominable snowman, won once against my friends at the snowmobile arcade game and enjoyed the falling snow while watching the performance. After taking all this in I made my way over to find out more about the phone. The Lumia-710 was sleek, fast and easy to use. Great way to multitask all your needs and interest. Easily view all of your updates, statuses, and other applications without leaving the home screen. Very simple, one of their tag lines is actually "beautifully uncomplicated" and it reigns true.
